Trudeau…keep dreaming, bringing hope, and casting vision it is what Canadians need and want.
There was a school of thought, recently, that the Conservatives might have to change their usual game when it came to Justin Trudeau. Stéphane “Not a Leader” Dion looked like he took attack ads personally, and didn’t have the language skills (or the temperament) for quick, nasty comebacks. Michael “Just Visiting” Ignatieff just looked appalled by the whole spectacle, and the knock against him happened to be true.
Trudeau, it is generally accepted, is more likeable than either, quick on his feet, capable of self-deprecation and just generally comfortable in his own skin. He has that elusive quality, or so goes the theory, that determines which kids don’t get bullied on the playground.
Instead, the Conservatives’ first attack ad against Trudeau is if anything even more sneering and dismissive than the ones against Dion or Ignatieff. And it contains a truly outrageous twisting of Trudeau’s words, even by the standards…
