$10, 686.89 was raised for Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to continue the great work with children and families throughout Alberta. How was this accomplished you ask?

Simply by asking our neighbours who was Playin’ 4 Keeps?

Playin’ 4 Keeps was a fundraising Alberta Parade tour in Support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. The tour proudly wound through the communities of:

High River, Arrowwood, Aspen Crossing, Black Diamond, Coronation, Sundre, Castor, Rocky Mountain House,Brooks, Bassano, Airdrie, Gliechen, White Court, Irricanna, Drumheller,Three Hills,Trochu, Elnora, Cochrane, Strathmore, Longview; and Crossfield.

It was a simple community drive of our volunteer team:

Dennis Kilmister; Ty and Shawna Ragan; Logan Ragan; Eric Ragan; and Sherry Armitage; with the amazing float kids Bubba and Shae Romanowski, Leland and Justina Ragan who came armed with bubbles, smiles, cheers and fun!

That brought a converted log cabin playhouse (thank you cabinsales.ca for the cabin) to a piggy bank through parades and fair grounds.  Those who took mere seconds to come by and lend their change in support also had the opportunity to become one of 4225 entrants in the draw at the wind up on September 28, 2013 with a Wild West Extravaganza at the Countess Country Museum that included hot dogs, pop, games for kids, exhibits for all ages, and the Guns of the Golden West trick shooting and re-enactments.

The sunny day wrapped with the grand prize draw by Guns of the Golden West and the winning ticket from the 4225 entries:

Sherry Howdle of Airdrie who entered the draw at the Strathmore parade.
