Jung calls it the Shadow. Ancient Judaism referred to it as Lucifer or Satan. Ancient Christianity spoke of Satan. Some Indigenous faiths have the parable of the two wolves fighting within and whichever one you feed is the one that survives. Norse Mythology one can look at the stories of Thor and Loki as an allegory for the human soul.

This is the higher/lower self that is spoken of within the Aquarian Gospel:

  1. The higher self is human spirit clothed with soul, made in the form of God. 7.The lower self, the carnal self, the body of desires, is a reflection of the higher self, distorted by the murky ethers of the flesh. 8. The lower self is an illusion, and will pass away; the higher self is God in man, and will not pass away. 9. The higher self is the embodiment of truth reversed, and so is falsehood manifest. 10. The higher self is justice, mercy, love and right; the lower self is what the higher self is not. 11. The lower self breeds hatred, slander, lewdness, murders, theft, and everything that harms; the higher self is mother of the virtues and the harmonies of life. 12. The lower self is rich in promises, but poor in blessedness and peace; it offers pleasure, joy and satisfying gains; but gives unrest and misery and death.

The Aquarian Gospel 8:6-12

The ancient legend of Job speaks to whom Satan is, a tester within, one that refines our spirit and our connection to the Divinity. It is not about an external force exerting pressure upon us, it is the yin-yang within, the Divine Self-Shadow Self wrestling, what is a true Islamic Jihad of the Holy and Satan within the self, or in Tibetan Buddhism talk of inner demons.

This is what is being revealed here, is it a life being created to live in and seeking blessing through experiences or is it a life that we simply succumb to the darkness and exist there, not allowing growth, not allowing the enlightening/awakening of our energy selves, the Chakras, so that we can truly open our crown into true unity with the Divinity.

Now reading this it can appear that the false dichotomy of Spirit good, flesh bad, is being preached. The old Aurelius arguments. But this is not so. I direct one to read the work of Rev. Matthew Fox Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh for a better understanding. This is language of the time, and in context that a hearer would understand for the giving in is akin to addiction to anything seizing your life, and letting the Shadow-Sludge overcome your Chakra-Light Self so that you are no longer aware to your connection with everything, and through everything because of the Holy Mystery.

This is what this teaching is speaking to, when we are no longer living in blessing and abundance, but have chosen to allow created things to control us and are not aware this is true and taking steps to break the bondage of slavery. Much like the earlier stories of Herod, and the flashes it would give to the Exodus. The idea of throwing off the Oppressor of the Self, the lower self as noted above.

What is the Lower Self controlling you? Holding you back? Or slipping you up?

What is one thing you are going to do today to begin breaking the chain of bondage of the Lower Self?
